After a nice week in the Alps without running the CCC (have a look at Silke's account of the event if you want more details) I now find myself with reasonably fresh legs. In much better shape than only a few weeks ago. And I am now really looking forward to the Berlin Marathon.
I have managed to produce PB's in all my races this year: Glasgow - Edinburgh (56 miles, PB by 30 minutes), Highland Fling (53 miles, PB by 11 minutes), West Highland Way race (95 miles, first finish) and Devil (42 miles, PB by 14 minutes).
And I am now hopeful to produce a PB in Berlin in less than two weeks. That is I want to break my PB from last year (2:46:06). Not an easy task but I feel in much better shape now than I was last year before the Berlin Marathon. I even managed to produce some reasonable speedwork.
So I am getting older but can still go faster? Do you want to guess my time? :-)

Go Thomas Go
Another PB on the cards
2hrs 42min 55secs
Have a good one.
I nearly missed you at one meeting point last year due to the underground connection. So if you go too fast I won't be able to follow you around! :-) But I say 2:43:27.
Best of luck for a new PB (I say 2h44:26). I was supposed to be there too, but booked flights too late... Look forward to seeing you and Silke again soon. I'll be back in Scotland the second weekend of October if you fancy a run on the WHW? Richard
Good luck, I reckon you'll get 2:42:00.
A marathon?? That's a wee short one isn't it? I'll say about 20 minutes...
Oh come on, you ran at least 5K of the CCC. Don't belittle your efforts :-) It's a big jump to a marathon, but I'm sure you'll get round :-)
2:45:23
See you Saturday.
